What is CI Immersion?

For Students and Learners

CI Immersion helps you move from confusion to comprehension and from memorization to real communication. It is designed to make learning another language feel natural, engaging, and surprisingly fun.

1. Comprehensible Input Comes First

You acquire language when you understand what you hear and read. When messages make sense, your brain starts connecting patterns automatically. You do not have to memorize charts or rules to make progress. You just need to understand.

In class, I make sure you always know what is happening. You will never be dropped into a confusing situation where you cannot follow along. Each step builds on what you already know so you can grow with confidence.

2. From Structured Input to Structured Output

At first, your main job is to listen and read. Once your brain has absorbed enough input, you will naturally start producing language. We guide you through that process so it feels easy and supported.

You will not be forced to speak before you are ready. You will speak when your brain has built enough understanding to make it effortless.

3. Story-Based and Meaningful

You learn best when the content matters to you. Every lesson is story-based and full of meaning. We use humor, emotion, and real-life situations so the language sticks in your mind.

Stories help you connect language to ideas and emotions. You start to understand and remember naturally, without flashcards or rote memorization.

4. Reading for Pleasure

Once you can follow short readings and stories, you will begin reading for pleasure. You will choose what you want to read and explore the language at your own pace.

Reading for pleasure builds your vocabulary, strengthens your grammar, and makes language feel like something you live, not something you study.

5. Real Proficiency Instead of Textbook Coverage

The goal is not to “finish a book.” The goal is to help you understand, think, and communicate in real conversations. Proficiency means being able to use the language to connect with people, not just to fill out worksheets.

You will be evaluated on comprehension and communication, not on how many grammar points you can name.

Language learning should not make you nervous. In our classes, you will understand almost everything that is said. You will feel supported and safe to participate without fear of mistakes.
